A comprehensive approach to conflict transformation requires the existence of institutional structures that promote dialogue and facilitate the resolution of disputes in a constructive and transparent manner. Accordingly, TransConflict works to consolidate and reform municipal institutions in areas of multi-ethnic diversity throughout the Western Balkans.
TransConflict provides technical assistance to help develop sustainable institutional capacity and promote a participatory approach that strengthens the strategic policy and budget planning functions of municipal governments.
TransConflict also undertakes comparative research into the role of institutions in transforming conflict, regularly producing policy papers and recommendations designed to enrich the understandings of good governance in the Western Balkans.
