Main Aims and Objectives

Contribute to conflict transformation through research, training, advocacy and promoting active-nonviolence.

Upholding the Principles of Conflict Transformation

Providing consultancy services to support research, conflict analysis, peace building, civic awareness and training. ANVI promotes and supports the dissemination of information that addresses conflict sensitivity and transformation, and facilitates leadership seminars, forums and consultations related to issues of peace building and conflict transformation.

Where and with Whom

ANVI works predominantly in the Eastern African Countries, with some outreach to West and Southern Africa. ANVI covers Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Eastern DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique,Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana and the Gambia.

Main Activities in the Field of Conflict Transformation

ANVI have conducted baseline assessments, studies, research and participated in program design to address conflict. ANVI has also been involved in developing syllabus, curriculum and training matter for peace building, peace building, civic awareness, as well as advocacy work. ANVI’s work has also involved introduction and promotion of active non-violence to leaders and university students. ANVI has facilitated peace conferences, where conflicting communities have negotiated for peace, as well as organizing and facilitating forums for local leaders to explore concepts of peace building in their context, embrace active non-violence and conflict transformation.
