Upholding the Principles of Conflict Transformation

After the 2007/2008 post-election violence, AHADI organized a regional conference on ethnic diversity as a resource for Eastern Africa, and brought together members of parliament, intellectuals and opinion makers from the region to reflect on the benefits of diversity in political, economic and social development. AHADI has also worked with th National Cohesion and Integration Commission to facilitate national conversations on diversity, and to develop Kenya’s ethnic and race relations policy. AHADI has organized wide ranging trainings on conflict sensitive journalism and on transformative leadership in Kenya. AHADI has also undertaken health work in Uganda and Tanzania, mainly with the media, as health promotion to be crucial in sustainable peace.
