Areas of Expertise

Somali Anti-Tribalism Organization has expertise in a range of areas, including:

Main Aims and Objectives

The Somali Anti-Tribalism Organization (SATO) was established in August 2014 by group of Somali intellectuals to tackle the problems facing the country. SATO aims to stimulate the potential of the Somali people to change their own lives through a sustainable, integrated people-centered development strategy.

Upholding the Principles of Conflict Transformation

The organisation endeavours to contribute towards enabling target communities to find solutions to their challenges. In this sense, it strives to see an improvement of living standards with concern for the long-term viability of development programmes and the environment. SATO sees this as especially key in the Somalia context in which integration, cooperation and development is often seen as an ‘outsider-driven’ process.

Where and with Whom?

SATO has its headquarters in Mogadishu and operates in South/Central Somalia. To facilitate its work effectively, SATO has a number of operational offices in both Kenya and Somalia.

Main Activities in the Field of Conflict Transformation

SATO facilitates various viable development programs among the communities it serves. The concept of a sustainable development has been a central theme in development strategies.
