Youth Dialogue Programme has expertise in a range of areas, including:

Main Aims and Objectives

The Youth Dialogue Programme works to:

  • Influence the re-establishment of trust and cooperation among young people from Serbia and Kosovo through youth dialogue;
  • Engage as many young people as possible in cooperation programmes;
  • Work to promote reconciliation amongst youth;
  • Jointly commence new initiatives and common projects of cooperation among Serbs, Albanians, Roma, Gorani and other nationalities that coexist in the Balkans;
  • Promote acceptance of European values and ways of life;
  • Change prejudices of Serbs and Albanians, and other communities that live in the Balkans;

Upholding the Principles of Conflict Transformation

The Youth Dialogue Program Serbia – Kosovo, has emerged from the initiative of young people from Serbia and Kosovo at the beginning of 2005, with the aim of reviving the interrupted cooperation between young Serbs and Albanians after the conflicts in 1999. As this is necessarily a lengthy process, investment in youth involvement is a decidedly constructive approach. Furthermore, the fact the founding initiative came from groups of young people, their first-hand knowledge of the problems facing young people can be readily applied in re-establishing mutual cooperation.
