Whilst countries in Central and Eastern Europe have both had to contend with post-Soviet transition, the results in the former group stand in stark contrast to those in the latter.

1) Moldova

Since 1990, the breakaway territory of Transnistria (also called Trans-Dniestr or Transdniestria) has long been a source of conflict within Moldova, including the War of Transnistria that ended with a 1992 ceasefire agreement. Read more…
